Feeling and balancing the chi, loosening the muscles which will free up the bones and nerves and developing a compassionate and respectful touch is what we try and convey in our massage courses, both our 5 day Raynor Massage Certificate course and our 10 day Raynor Massage Diploma course as well as the advanced massage courses that I am soon going to be personally holding in Hawaii.
We emphasize that students treat each person as an individual, therefore, we don’t teach massage routines, but instead, we teach people to feel where there are tight areas and blockages and how to release them. This approach ensures that you will be equipped to help each individual with their unique problems.
Our massage training is the most comprehensive training in the world today, we use techniques from massage styles from all over the world including:
We teach people how to perform a vast multitude of different massage strokes and techniques as well as to locate many of the major acupressure and trigger points in the body. We teach people to develop a rhythm with their massage, to work with the breath, to understand how one area of the body being tight and blocked will affect another. An example of this is a person may have tightness in their feet that makes their back tight, or tightness in their belly which hold emotions and constricts the person’s chi, and leads to headaches, dizziness or an overactive mind. We teach people to deal with all of these conditions and so many more and to produce a very powerful and deep massage that leaves a person feeling like a lot of deep tension has left their body and mind. Many people say they feel the best they have felt in years after receiving a massage from a graduate of our massage school.
We don’t emphasize anatomy, nor do we say it is wrong to study it, merely that it is one way of looking at the body from a culture with a very new found appreciation of massage as compared to Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine which is ancient and has been practicing massage for millenniums. (Safely without regulation and state/national massage boards trying to control them).
Learning about the human body and the healing process and improving your massage technique will never stop, but every massage school will have a different cut off point at which they believe their students are ready to go out and start doing massages on the public. We believe with our focus on practical training, teaching our students to learn by ‘feel’ and our rapid learning techniques that pinpoint the skills required to be a good massage therapist we can make you a better massage therapist after 5 days than most other massage schools would in a year and after 10 days you will be fantastic, and in a far better position to offer a fantastic massage therapy treatment than most other massage therapists in your area.
Most of the students that attend our massage school say that this was the best course they have ever done, and they learnt so much in such a short period of time they can’t believe it.
I learned more than I thought was possible...hands on is the only way to learn. What a great experience!Patti K
